Bearpuncher, a mountaineer with a monstrous curse, aims her ursine fist towards all that may threaten the safety of the Smoky Mountains. But when she comes across a destroyed lab while tracking a mysterious wildfire, she finds herself trapped in a conflict she can’t punch her way out of.

An animated love letter to the Smoky Mountains, and the creatures therein.

Inspired by vintage trail notebooks, Studio Ghibli foliage, and North Carolina government architecture, the world of Bearpuncher depicts the depths of the Smoky Mountains at golden hour.

Cursed to wander apart from kith and kin, Bearpuncher acts as the barrier between the human and monster worlds - yet isn't welcome in either. Her design balances outdoorsmen wear from the 1970s with black bear shapes and silhouette.

THE WILDFIRE SPIRITS

The incarnation of fire, smoke, and every burnt marshmallow you've ever lost, these capricious spirits are alien and aloof in their motivations. Essentially, they are walking campfire logs, but seen through the primal lens of cave paintings and ancient art.
